Blur faces and plates in any video

AutoBlur detects faces and license plates across sampled frames. Add manual regions for other objects and review every mask. Upload a video, choose what to blur, download a clean file — that's the whole workflow.

  • YouTube & social clips

How it works

Three steps. No editing timeline.

Upload your video, choose what to blur, and download your result. No signup, no plugins, no app to install.

Upload your video or photo

Drag in an MP4, MOV or WebM clip — or a JPG, JPEG, PNG or other common image format. Everything opens straight in the browser, on desktop or on your phone.

Choose what to blur

Automatic detection supports faces and license plates. For other regions, draw a box manually; manual regions stay at the selected position for the full video.

Preview and export

Adjust blur strength and style, scrub the preview, then export a clean file — ready to publish, with no watermark burned into the frame.

Motion tracking

The blur follows the subject, frame by frame

AutoBlur's AI automatically tracks moving objects, faces and vehicles. You do not need to manually mask every frame — the motion-aware tracker keeps the blur locked onto the subject as it moves.

  • Handles turns and partial views. Profiles, angled shots and difficult lighting still register.
  • Manual top-up. Anything the detector misses, you box in yourself — and it gets tracked too.

Who blurs with AutoBlur

Anything filmed in public, in an office or at home usually carries something you'd rather not publish.

Creators & vloggers

Publish street footage, event clips and reaction videos without exposing bystanders who never agreed to be filmed.

Dashcam & fleets

Blur license plates in driving footage, dashcam uploads and street-view video so transport teams stay compliant with privacy law.

Webinars & talking heads

Soften a messy home office behind the speaker in tutorials, webinars, interviews and course recordings — after they were filmed.

Real estate

Walk-through tours keep the property in frame and take out the neighbours, parked cars, family photos and house numbers.

Compliance & legal

Anonymise CCTV, body-cam and incident footage before it is shared with insurers, regulators or the public record.

Schools & healthcare

Share classroom or clinical recordings for training while every identifiable face and name badge stays covered.

Your footage doesn't leave the browser tab

AutoBlur leverages client-side technology to process videos securely: files are processed locally in your browser and never uploaded or stored permanently on external servers.

  • No account required — nothing to sign up for, nothing to link.
  • Nothing kept — close the tab and the working copy is gone with it.
  • Blur is baked in — the exported file carries the mosaic in its pixels; it isn't an overlay someone can peel off.
  • Review the whole exported video before sharing. Automatic detection can miss regions; use manual masks where needed.

FAQ

Questions people ask before uploading

Is AutoBlur really free?

Free local video processing. Review detected faces and plates, add manual regions and check the complete export. Speed and capacity depend on your device.

Do you upload or store my video?

No. AutoBlur leverages advanced client-side technology to process videos securely — files are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded or stored permanently on external servers. When you close the tab, the working copy goes with it.

What can I blur?

Faces (auto-detected by AI), backgrounds, license plates, text, logos and any custom object you select. The AI tracks moving elements throughout the video, so the blur follows the subject instead of requiring keyframes.

Does it handle more than one face?

Free local video processing. Review detected faces and plates, add manual regions and check the complete export. Speed and capacity depend on your device.

Which file formats are supported?

Choose a video your browser can play. Preview masks and export locally using the format supported by your browser. Still images are not supported.

Is there a watermark on the export?

No watermark on any tier. The blur itself is rendered into the pixels of the exported file, so it can't be removed or peeled off afterwards.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?

Neither. AutoBlur is a completely web-based tool: upload any video or image, pick a blur tool and apply pixelation or blur instantly inside your browser, with no apps, plugins or signup.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. AutoBlur is fully responsive and optimised for mobile browsers, so you can blur a video background or pixelate faces directly on an iPhone, iPad or Android device.

Can I control how strong the blur is?

Yes — adjust blur strength for anything from a subtle depth-of-field effect to a stronger bokeh-style background, and switch between gaussian blur, mosaic, pixelation and a solid block.

What if the AI misses something?

Draw a box around it yourself. Manual regions are tracked exactly like detected ones, so a missed plate or a house number stays covered as the camera moves.
